Guest guest
Dear All, I thought i would share my expereinces as a wee bit of a warning to those whp feel like they want to practice if they have a chest infection. I developed quite a serious infection and really feel that it was doiong ashtanga too soon that made my illness much longer (i was ill for 2.5 months). Its something to do with the ujjayi breathing! i think its a bit of a disaster unless you are 100% lung-fit! anyone have this experience? Also, doing ujjayi with joss sticks burning in the room during class was also a complete no no as my lungs felt very sore afterwards. I think that due to the intensity of the breathing joss sticks should not be used at all during preactice, oil burners are much better. I am better now,but those out there with recurrent bronchitits (especially ythis time of year!) Please be careful.. ps-acupuncture really helped. warm regards gab88
