Guest guest
If you are thinking of India, perhaps consider a residential workshop at Purple Valley Retreat. It's an easy hop from Bangalore, Mumbai and other cities to Goa. All details are at http://www/yogagoa.com, There is still time to book a place with Emil Wendel and Sue Pendlebury on their unique two week `Spiritual Transformation through Traditional Yogic Practices' workshop which starts on 21st January. This is a closed retreat for a limited number of people with two exceptionally gifted teachers. It is emotionally demanding but does not require any great previous experience in any aspect of yoga, and leads to greater self-knowledge and confidence with lots of good fun and laughter along the way. Highly recommended. Details at: http://www.yogagoa.com/work.html Gabriella Pascoli, one of the founders of Purple Valley, is taking a two week workshop from 18th February based on traditional ashtanga techniques and systems. It is ideal for those who are looking for a highly experienced teacher able to give unique individual attention, and work with modifications where necessary. Detals at: http://www.yogagoa.com/work.html Ron Reid and Marla Meenakshi Joy are known as `the teachers' teachers' and are offering two weeks of intensive practice work, with pranayama, meditation and chanting. They come from Downward Dog in Canada, and all levels except complete beginners are welcome. Details at: http://www.yogagoa.com/work.html There will be a two-week workshop for teachers with Doug Swenson starting on 18th March. It is not pure ashtanga but based on Ashtanga principles, with lots of vinyasa flow and a deeper holistic approach than is achieved through plain ashtanga. You don't have to be a teacher to take this workshop – it is ideal for anyone wanting to deepen their practice and knowledge without deviating too far from the traditional ashtanga system. Doug calls his yoga Sadhana Yoga Chi and you can see more about it by going to http://www.dougswenson.net Over at the Purple Valley Drop-In Centre, there is an Adjustment Clinic with Nancy Gilgoff starting on 27th January – pre registration is essential.
