Guest guest
Hey guys, Thanks for all of your replies to this. One of the things that seems to be helping with this is the old back scrubber in the shower - something I never really used to do, but have been advised to do by my back cleanse therapist! Regarding cause, I really do think its to do with my back and shoulders starting to 'open up', I'm even starting to feel my everyday standing posture start to change too. My mat hygiene is good, I give my mat a good rinse and dry every few weeks (I've got one of the bigger 'manduka' style mat, so difficult to put in the washing machine). Drinking stacks of water a day too (4 litres/day), + changing my diet to a more 'Raw-ganic' + Alkaline one. I'll keep you posted of my progress. The toxins-thru-the-skin thing certainly is an attractive answer, it really makes one believe in the internal cleansing benefits of the practice, perhaps it is correct. The cop in me makes me want to look first at more prosaic possibilities. Shoulders and back are the two "regular skin" areas (as opposed to the palms and soles of feet) that spend a lot of time pressed into your mat. Is your mat clean? If so, might you be cleaning it with something that you are reacting to? Are your feet tracking something on to the mat which then winds up pressed into your shoulders/back? Is something sweating off your body (cologne, anti-perspirant,hair product) on to the mat, and then being pressed into the pores of your shoulders/back? Is there someting in your shirt (if you wear one) perhaps making a problem? Do you wear a shirt that you practice in home before taking a shower? Just bein' Dick Tracy. ashtanga yoga, "The Fractionater" <the.fractionater wrote: > > Quick question - has anyone experienced this before? > > My skin is normally pretty good, but over the last couple of months I > seem to have broken out into quite a few spots on my back and shoulders > - Whats this got to do with Ashtanga???
