Additional comments on verse 2:

In this verse shrI dIkshita offers a reason for telling his plights to

ambaaL. SHE is omniscient, she knows everything, why do we in spite of this

tell HER our problems and worries and ask for help?

By the question, Can I tell you (avedyatAm kim) what you do not know

(aviditam), dIkshita implies that there is nothing SHE does not know.

Even then (athApi), what needs to be told (vaktavyam), if left unsaid

(anuktam), the wounds of the heart will not heal ( antara rujopa samAya

nAlam). For this purpose (iti arthase), he request HER to give him a

patient hearing (shravane nidhAtum).

This is also an apology for telling HER what She already knew. It is

not that the devotee is questioning Her omniscience or doubting that

SHE will not take care without request. By telling out loud (in tamil,

pulambinAl dukkam thIruvathu pola), the devotee gets a psychological

relief.

In this verse shrI mInAkShI devI is referred to as malaydhvaja

pAndya's daughter (malayadhvaja pANDya kanye).

pulambinAl = due to complaining

dukkam = sorrow

thiiruvathu = over/complete

pola = like

If we have a shoulder to cry on, then it seems like all our sorrows

are over. And what better person than Her itself ?
