Guest guest
Complete text upto this point can be found in http://www.geocities.com/Athens/Atlantis/7587/meenakshi/shyama1.html anupallavi sevi~nchE vaarikellanu chintaamaNiyaiyunaara Word by word meaning: sevin~nchE: for those who worship you vaariki : to them elanu : all chintAmaNiyai: like a the chintaamaNi jewel unnaraa? : is it there? This sentence even though framed like a question is actually and an exclamation. It means; For all those who worship YOU, are YOU not there like a wish fulfilling chintaamaNi stone! Here the comparison of ambaa with the chintaamaNi ratnam is only a hint. It is well known that the chintaamaNi ratnam (a percious stone) can grant the wishes of those possess it. It is a wish fulfilling wonder. But it grants only the wishes of the person who has it. On the other hand, ambaaL grants not just the wishes of HER devotees, but what is more appropriate for them. In this context, a beautiful quote from shrii nisargadatta maharaj is quite appropriate. He says, God will take care of us without our requests. Often we complicate things by asking for unnecessary desires. Mother of the Cosmos knows what HER children need inspite of their pestering demands for unnecessary things. In this respect SHE is beyond comparison, hence, comparing HER with the chintaamaNi ratnam can only be a hint. Author the commentary further elaborates on this verse quoting few names from the lalitaa trishatii, and a verse from shrii shankara's miinaakShi stotram, celebrating this aspect of ambaaL. ---- [to be continued] AUM shrImatre namaH Note: The www page has the complete text of the kriti. I will update the commentary after I finish the commentary on anupallavi which will have two more posts. Thank you. ------ eGroups.com home: - Simplifying group communications
