Guest guest
vedaanta vaakya janitaM vimalaM vichaaraiH aasaadya bodhaM anuchintanataH aparoxam.h . muktiM vrajanti manujaa iti suuktiM aadyaam.h aalmbya kaH tarituM arhati shailakanye ..7.. >From this verse shrii diikShita will put forward arguments against jnaana maarga, bhakti maarga, and karma maarga, to dismiss them as very difficult and impractical, and finally concludes that sharaNaagati is best way. In this context some of the remarks made by shrI shrI chandrasekharendra sarasvatI in his shrImukham are quite relevant (this will be posted later ). In this verse shrii diikShita wonders how many can follow the most difficult path of jnAna marga though vichaara. O paarvatii devii (shaila kanye) by hearing the noble and lofty statements of vedanta (vedaanta vaakya janitam) and attaining purification (vimalam) through deep enquiry (vichaaraih) and (aprokSham anuchintanataH) meditation on these verses (vichaaraiH), one can attain the liberating knowledge which is very difficult to attain (aasaadya bodham). By this a person (manujaa) can attain liberation (muktim vrajanti). Thus proclaim the veda-s (iti aadyam suuktam). Who (kaH) holds on to this (aalambya) qualifies (arhati) to cross this ocean of samsra (taritum). By this shrii diikshita hints that only a very few will qualify for this path. This verse also succintly defines what it takes to attain liberation.
