AUM shrImAtre namaH

 

I welcome the new members to and sincerely hope to learn from

them.

 

Here is a brief introduction about me.

 

I am Ravi and I was born and brought up in Chennai (Madras), India.

Originally my family is from Mayavaram, Thanjavur, Tamil Nadu, India.

Our family follows kAnchi maTha. My ishTa devata is shrI mInAkShI amman

(Madurai) and our kula devata is shrI vaidyanAtha svAmi of

Vaidheeswaran Kovil, Thanjavur. At present we live in Austin and I am

working in COMCO as Research Engineer and also pursuing my Ph.D

part-time at Texas A&M University.

 

I am initiated only to gAyatrI mantra and I worship the ambaaL (and

also shrIman nArayaNa,Lord shiva and other devatas) with the gAyatri

mantra alone. Based on my Uncle's advice, I am learning to look at

every devata as manifestation of ambaaL and worship them with all my

heart, love and strength. If it is ambaaL's wish I may get initiated

into shrIvidyopAsana, at present I am totaly content with meditating on

gAyatri.

 

My three favorite stotrams are lalitA sahasranAmam, laitAtrishatI and

saundaryalaharI. My wish is to learn these three (with meaning)

by-heart.

 

 

I request the other members of the list to post an self-introduction,

if they feel comfortable about it. It is purely voluntary though.
