Guest guest
namaste. May ShrI LalitA give me proper strength of intellect so that I can for ever sing and chant the beautiful ShrILalitAtrishatI. As my first post in this new List, I like to touch on very briefly two single lines from ShriLalitAtrishatI. In ShrILalitAtrishatI, it is said asyA nAmnAm trishatyAstu mahimA kena varNyate Who can describe the splendour and beauty of ShrI LalitA's names three hundred times ? Obviously, no one. But, Shri Shankara's bhAshhyA on ShriLalitAtrishatI provides the answer to that question. Shri Shankara wrote the bhAshhya on ShrILalitAtrishatI, explaining the philosophical meaning behind each of the three hundred names in terms of advaita. Our List-owner Shri Ravi's painstaking efforts to make these meanings available to the Internet community are commendable. ShrILalitAtrishatI is my favorite stotra and my favorite line is Lord HayagrIvA's saying (towards the end of the stotra) LalitA preritenaiva mayoktam stotramuttamam It is only at ShrI LalitA's order that I am chanting this ShrILalitAtrishatI. This statement is true not only for Lord HayagrIvA teaching Agastya, but also in our daily chanting as well. Without ShrI LalitA's grace, we will not know this stotra.
