Guest guest
- aakarNaya tvamimamabhyupagamyavaadaM jaanaatu ko.api yadi vaa hR^idayaM shrutiinaam.h | tasyaapyasaMkhyabhavabandhashataarjito.ayaM dvaitabhramo galatu janmashataiH kiyadbhiH || 13 || In a split form: aakarNaya tvaM imaM abhi upagamya vaadaM jaanaatu ko.api yadi vaa hR^idayaM shrutiinaam.h | tasya api asaMkhya bhava bandha shataarjitaH ayaM dvaita bhramo galatu janma shataiH kiyadbhiH || 13 || O Divine mother, Please listen (aakarNaya tvaM) this (imam) argument accepting the following(abhi upagamya vaadaM). Let assume some how ( ko.api yadi vaa) one learns (jaanaatu) the central purport of the vedas (shrutiinaam.h hR^idayaM). This itself is a tough, and an almost impossible task. Even then (tasya api), when the countless ((asaMkhya) bonds of saMsara (bhava bandha) accumulated (arjita) over hundreds (shata) of births sticking(galatu) to him(ayam), how will the the illusion of duality (dvaita bhramo) go away even at the end of hundred births (kiyabdhiH janma shataiH). The mere intellectual understanding of the vedic lore will not translate into advaita-anubhava when the durvaasana-s accumulated over many many births are still active and the illusion of duality is sticking fast to the person. In the previous verses, shrI diikshita higlighted how difficult indeed it is understand the veda-s. Which the reader will not hesitate to understand as the different schools of vedanta fight over its essence till today and which will continue till praLayam. The point here is agony of the soul seeking liberation looking the at unsurmountable task of jnAna mArga. ------------- In the subsequent verses shrI diikShita will dismiss the inefficacy of karma and bhakti marga-s and end after establishing his kaarpaNyam (helplessness) and take sharaNaagati (at verse 32) to ambaaL and establish, SHE can dismiss his prArabdha by HER grace. Around the verses 32 -40, some important aspects of sharaNagati will be highlighted and also the poet will emphasize of the six anga-s of sharaNagati, only mahaa vishvAsam is the most important. Roughly from the 54 verse, the he start describe the glory of ambaaL from feet to head. When time permits, we will post the shrImukham to this text by kAnchi periyaava shrii shrii chandrasekharendra sarasvatii.
