Here, the abdomen of ambAl is compared to the sky. Could some one

explain the concept(s) behind this comparison ?

Here is another interpretation. Ammachi is always describing the universe as

existing as a bubble within Her. So when I read the line

..... vyoma samaana madhyamayutaaM...(whose abdomen is comparable to the

sky)

 

I understood it to mean that the universe (the sky) exists within Her belly,

in other words, all of existence resides within Her. The walls of the stomach

would appear like the sky as the furthest boundries of the universe that we

could see.

 

This may be an incorrect translation of the sanskrit, as there is probably a

different word for universe than sky (my ignorance.)

 

However, when I am in a state of very clear connection with Devi, I often

feel as if I am inside Her, I see my house, myself driving to work, my

relationships with other people, all as a little drama playing out inside of

Her Unfathomable body. The abdomen is the center of the body, so when the

universe is in Her abdomen it resides in the center of the Divine Mother.

This also could have connotations of the growth/residence of a baby inside

the Mother.

The sky contains vayu and our stomach also produces various types of gas or

vayu.Further we are always surrounded by the energy which is nothing but our

own breathing and the breathing of those who left this immortal coil to

merge with the all pervading energy. The energy we are breathing is prana of

high purity whereas the gas produced in our stomach are many, but they

generate from the superfine energy. Hope my concept is OK.

My take on this is:

 

The whole jagat is considered to be in the abdomen of Shri DevI. Similar

description that the whole world is inside the stomach of saguNa Brahman

is also there in VishnusahasranAma.

 

May be I am wrong, but my interpretation at the moment is that way.
