I thank Sri Ravi for adopting me in this list.

I feel blessed to get in to this list on the auspicious day of

vijayadashami.I thought it would be better to introduce myself and speak

about my background a bit. Please pardon me if its too personal.

 

..I hail from a family of Sri Vidhya Upaasakaas.

..Had initial training in Sanskrit and Bakthi works under Sri NaTesha Sharma,

starting from aadithyaa hR^idayaM,shyaamaLaa daNDakam,Vishnu, Lalitha

Sahasranamam, Shivananda lahari, Sundara gaNdam, Durga Sapthashati and other

popular works.

.. Did a little bit of Veda adyaayana for 5 to 6 years covering mostly what

is needed in general and some Upanishhats.

..Was initiated in to devi workship by Sri Kumaaraswaami diikshitar (The head

of yajur veda pata shaala - kanchi) at the goshaala in kanchi mutt.

.. Learned astrology, Lalitha trishati & Sri Vaishnava literature from a 90+

aged Vaishnava scholar.

.. Had the fortune to listen to a number of discourses on Bakthi works by Sri

aaNNa and others.

.. Has a little knowledge in carnatic music.

.. Has some exposure to south indian bajan trasition.

.. Had the fortune to listen to almost all compositions of Sri Muthuswami

Diikshitar.

.. Had visited almost all holy shrines in south India sung by Diikshitar and

other prominent saints.

.. Made some efforts to popularize rare compositions of diikshitar by

conducting diikshitar jayanthi's and was honored by Musical organizations

for that.

..A MVS system Analyst by profession , working in US (Chicago).

Nice to see your biodata and nice to have you as our spiritual companion. I

am in 32B orchard street, summit, newjersey-07901 - phone:908-273-2031 and

will be here till 2/12/1999 and then return to india. I am doing some

research work on Sri natha navarathna malika and hope to succeed soon.

Perhaps if you are coming this side please meet me. I did the avarana pooja
