Guest guest
abhyasya vedamavadhaaya ca puurvatantra- maalaxya shiSTacaritaani pR^ithagvidhaani. adhyaapanaadibhiravaapya dhanaM ca bhuuri karmaaNi maataralasaaH kathamaacareyuH ..16.. in a split form: abhyasya vedam.h avadhaaya ca puurvatantram.h aalaxya shiSTacaritaani pR^ithagvidhaani. adhyaapanaadibhiH avaapya dhanaM ca bhuuri karmaaNi maataH alasaaH katham.h aacareyuH ..16.. After learning the veda-s (vedam.h abhyasya) and also the puurva miimamsa shaastra (avadhaaya ca puurvatantram.h), observing (aalaxya) various conflicting forms of (pR^ithagvidhaani) religious modes followed by elders (shiSTacaritaani) one spends a lot of time. Then again in earning enormous wealth (avaapya dhanaM ca bhuuri) by teaching shaastraa-s and other exertions (adhyaapanaadibhiH). After all this one becomes lazy (alasaa ) in the end when it comes to doing one's ordained karma-s (karmaaNi), then how will they do it (katham.h aacareyuH). Not only the karma is not a means to moksha, the necessities to do it correctly will make one lazy after he exerts all the effort required to achieve it.
