Guest guest
This is the sixth name in the miinaaxii ashhTottaram. niipa is a synonym to kadamba. SHE is fond of kadamba trees. Whenever the reference to kadamba comes in ambaaL's name, it reminds one of miinaaxii. SHE is kadambavanavaasini. madhurapuri which is known by other beautiful names like haalasya kShetram (tamil aalavaay kOTTam), dvadashaantapuri, naan maaDa kuuDal (tamil), kuuDal maanagaram (Tamil), was once a kadamba forest according to thiruviLaiyaaDal puraaNam. In tamil kadamba is written as kaDamba, and it reminds one of the verse of abhiraami bhatta that SHE is the cuckoo of the kaDamba forest (kaDambaaDaviyil kuyilaay, tradition associates ambaaL in the form of kuyil in madhurai). In English kadamba is known as Anthocephalus Cadamba and Nauclea Cadamba. If you have a picture of this tree , it will be very nice if you can send it to me. I managed to get a picture of the kadamba flower from the web, I have sent it to Swami Vishwaruupaananda, so that it can be included in the kaamaakshi page. AUM niipapriyaayai namaH
