Guest guest
This is the 12th name in the miinaaxii ashhTottaram. We discussed this name in the context of the name maatangii. Tradition associates shrii miinaaxii with raaja shyamaLa who was mantriNi to shrI lalitAparameshwarI in lalitopakhyaanam. In truth they are one (ekam sat), but during that episode, shyAmala manifests out of the sugarcane bow and becomes HER mantrinii. They are like Brahman and iishwara. The name mantriNii also comes from the word mantra. mantra is one which protects the person who chants its. A mantri gives wise counsel which protects the kingdom and the king. That is why the discussion the kings have is called mantira aalochana. Their relationship as brahman and iishwara is amplified by the name in lalita sahasranaama which says, it is mantriNii (iishwara) who runs the business of entire cosmos (mantriNI nyastha raajyadhuuH), and lalitaa (brahman) is a saaxii and witnesses it. Different puraaNa-s give different hierarachy of devata-s. But one should worship his/her iShTa devata as his/her own Self and the supreme being. God is indweller of all beings. SHE is one and SHE is the Self. To different people at different times SHE is known by different names and forms.
