Guest guest
We discussed the first 6 suutra-s. They form the section 1 of chapter 1. In brief these suutra-s described the nature of bhakti and especially from the stand point of an accomplished bhakta. Summary: 1) Therefore now I shall explain in detail about bhakti. 2) bhakti is indeed of the form of supreme love directed towards God. 3) Its nature is like amR^ita (confers immortality). 4) Having gained that the devotee becomes perfect, imortal and contented. 5) Having attained that, one desires not, one grieves not, one hates not, one delights not, and one does not get excited. 6) Having known that, one remains becomes intoxicated, still, and subsides and delights in the Self. Next section which has 8 suutra-s (7-14) they discuss how bhakti leads to renunciation and the what the devotee then abides by and abides not. --- Ravi "O divine beloved, I am a small child learning to walk towards thee. Teach me not to fear the failures in my attempt. Make my falls gentle and discourage me not. Guide my steps lest they will stray from thee. Even if it takes me a long long time, give me the patience and strength, to learn to walk, run and rush towards Thee. For you are my only support, my only love, and only one I can call my own."
