While commenting on the names kalyaaNaguNashaalinii, shankara says, "SHE is resplendent with blissful attributes such as, satyakAmtva, satyasankalpatva, sarvAdhipatva, sarveshAnatva, vAmanItva and so on. These are the attributes of brahman mentioned in chandyogyopanishhad. They are splendid because of HER or they are attributes of HER splendour." subhaga can mean auspicious wife who is a supreme pativrata. In saundaryalahari shankara remarks that it because of ambaaL's paativratyam Lord shiva survives the great delusion. bhaga can mean sun. It is said that from the rays of Sun, deva-s, R^ishhi-s, gandharva-s, yaxa-s, saadhya-s, apsara-s and asura-s arose. SHE is the support or basis for all of them (as brahman). subhaga can means ashhTa maangalya which means eight auspicious qualities. This list of eight varies with texts.
