Guest guest
rati and krIdA are two beautiful words. Though they have only subtle difference, Sri bagavatpAdAchAryA differentiates them beautifully. To ravel with external objects is one sort of enjoyment. The person who enjoys and the object for enjoyment are two separate entities. krIdA denotes such an enjoyment. When devi does jagatvyApAra she manifests in many forms and does this krIdA. But rati is to ravel in oneself. There are no two objects. The self alone exist that is her who enjoys or stays in Ananda. So ratipriyA denotes svatmArAmA. Many could have noticed the vaTapatra shAyi picture. ‘karAravindena padAravindam mukhAravinde viniveshayantam’ I have heard that the great advaitin Sridhara swami in his bhAgavata commentary explains this posture as ‘parabrahmam in its svAtmAnubhava’. There are no external objects of enjoyment. He sips his own finger. Devi likes to be in such svAtmAnubhavam than loka kelanam and hence she is ratipriyA. Aravind (The more we learn about her the more we lean on her) >--- miinalochanii wrote: > > > > > > > > 28. ratipriyaa > > We can interpret rati to mean "bliss" of aananda of Self.
