Guest guest
Dear Madhavaji I am quoting a part of the message posted by svAmi Vishwarupananda sometime back. This lists the 15 nitya devata-s. (I took liberty to remove the comma between kulasundarii and nityaa, making it kulasundarii-nityaa as one name). These nitya devata-s are not different from shriimaata. They are different manifestations of HER. And they govern each of the fifteen tithis. So by the name nityaa, one can understand that SHE is indeed these nitya-devata-s. I request Swami Vishvarupananda to add more. And please correct me if I am wrong. Ravi ---------- Forwarded message ---------- Mon, 2 Aug 1999 18:34:41 +0200 Lotus <Lotus Ambaa-L SahasranAmas Harih Om, Does anyone have some information, where to find the sahasranAmas (1000 names) of the Tithi-Nityas residing in the Shriyantra? They are kaameshvarii, bhagamaalinii, nityaklinnaa, bheruNdaa, vahnivaasinii, mahaa-vajreshvari, shivaduutii, tvaritaa, kulasundarii-nityaa, niila-pataakaa, vijayaa, sarva-mangalaa, jvaalaa-maalinii, chitraa and mahaa-nityaa, who is tripurasundarii herself. That's wrong. Yes, indeed each of these is a nitya, so you can say kaameshvari-nityaa, bhagamalini-nityaa, etc. but kulasundari-nityaa and nityaa-nityaa are two. So in the list I gave the comma has to remain. They are 16 nityaas: kaameshvarii, bhagamaalinii, nityaklinnaa, bheruNdaa, vahnivaasinii, mahaa-vajreshvari, shivaduutii, tvaritaa, kulasundarii, nityaa, niila-pataakaa, vijayaa, sarva-mangalaa, jvaalaa-maalinii, chitraa and mahaa-nityaa, who is tripurasundarii herself. Each of these nityaa deities represents (on the physical plane) one kalaa in time, i.e. one tithi or lunar phase. On the spiritual plane they are phases of manifestation (going towards spiritual night or ignorance, just like the dark half of the month, krishna paksha) and spritual evolution/dissolution (going towards the spiritual day or jnana, just like the light half of the month, shukla paksha)
