It is the one unique sound of the cosmos and the very essence of it. And according to patanjali's yoga suutra, AUM is HER symbol. SHE is fond of this primordial sound. SHE is indeed this sound and sahasrnaama salutes HER as naadaruupaa. AUM is referred to in other religions as well. Bible calls it as word. First the word was with God and the word was God. It is also referred to as Amen and the term holy ghost in christianity is interpreted as the cosmic vibration AUM by hindu saints. naada can be taken to mean music, then this name is synonymous to the previous name.
