43. sa.ngiitarasikaa

SHE is fond of music. SHE is pleased with the

worship through music. Many great bhakta-s like

shrii muttusvami diixita, shyama shaastri have

reached HER lotus feet through naadopasana.

 

shrii miinaakshii is associated with maatangii by

tradition and SHE is the presiding deity of

sangiitam. It is said that SHE taught the entire

sangiita shaastra to sage matanga. Hence, the

name sangiita rasikaa is appropriate.

 

To a mother, her child's incoherent utterances

with love is the best music. Tamil saint vaLLuvar

says that only those who have not listened to

their child's talk (how do you translate the

tamil word mazhalai) say harp is sweet and flute

is sweet. We are all HER children. Anything that

is uttered with love to HER is best poetry and

sweet music to HER.
