59. sha^NkataaTa^Nkinii

sha^Nka means conch shell and SHE wears them as ear

rings. (recall the verse quoted from muuka panchadashii for the

name sangiita rasikaa which ended with shravasi sha^Nka

kuNDalinii)

 

We can probably metaphorically interpret this as follows. sha^Nka

or conch represents the naadabrahmam or AUM. SHE wears it as

HER ear ornaments. That is SHE is absorbed in the AUM vibration

which is forms the basis for all. SHE is essentially one with it

and it is HER symbol.
