Guest guest
This name means SHE is slender waisted. This is name is present in the sahasranaama as well. In one of the verses of shyAmaLa navaratnamaalikaa stotram, kaaLidaasa says "mithyaa dhrishhTaanta madhya bhaagam te". That is one can say mithyaa as an example for HER waist. Here, the poet wonders whether it is there or not there, and it is undefinable. The same idea is conveyed in many works, for instance in one, it is compared to lightning. sahasranaama itself celebrates this aspect with names shaatodarii, talodarii, and laxya roma lataa dhaarata samunneya madhyamaa. AUM tanumadhyaayai namaH Ravi
Guest guest
.... my two cents... Her Head is the 'beginning' of this creation- Brahman, Her feet the final refuge again- Brahman- in the 'middle' it is this creation- Mithya , that's why Her middle ('waist') is caled 'Mithya' !!? :-) :-) Jai Ma bala >jaybee <jaybee555 > > >CC: agathiyar >Re: 68. tanu-madhyaa >Thu, 01 Jun 2000 18:07:37 +0800 > >At 06:36 PM 5/31/00 -0500, you wrote: > >This name means SHE is slender waisted. The sages try to seek the Param PoruL by various means; but still they can't ascertain whether the Param Porul IS or IS NOT.
