88. padmaasanaa

SHE who is seated on a lotus. This refers to the sahasrara

padmam. That is the thousand petaled lotus. SHE is seated on

it. agastya's yoga miinaaxii stotram salutes HER as sahasraara

padme. Because of the presence of ambaaL madhurai is known as

dvadashaanta purii (dvadadhaanta means sahasra, I can explain

what this 12 means later).

 

The word padma can refer to all the chakra-s which are

characterized by lotuses with different petals. SHE is the deity

of each one of them

 

Or the word padmaasana can indicate HER identity with

mahaalaxmii.
