Guest guest
This name indicates the harmony and unity of shiva and shakti. In mantra form it is represented by aham.h or iim.h (which is comparable in its significance to praNava). "a" is the beginning of the letters and it represents the prakasha ruupa para shiva. "ha" is the last of all* and it represents the vimarsha ruupa chit shakti. aham.h thus represents kaamakala as its signifies the unmanifested brahman and the manifested jagat. The essential idea is the unity of shiva and shakti is the basis for everything. Other interpretations of this name is possible. This name is represented in the sahasranaama as kaamakalaaruupaa. Commenting on this name shrii bhaaskararaaya gives various other meanings for this name**. AUM kamaakalaaruupaayai namaH * traditionally xa is considered as the last. But xa is a combination of k.h + shha. Hence, it is appropriate to considered ha as the last. ** Interpretation given here is based on the commentary to shrii miinaaxii stotram (present in miinaaxii stotramaala edited by R. Krishnaswamy Iyer). In miinaaxii stotram ambaaL is addressed in the 6th verse as kaamaakale. Corrections and comments are welcome. Thanks.
