Guest guest
I missed this name and got my count wrong. This is partly not my error. As the text from which I memorized the ashhTottaram* missed it as well :-(( but gave a wrong count. (fortunately it added few more names at the end thereby making it more than 108). I apologize for this error. It really frustrated me though. This name guhya vidyaa follows the name sudhaasaagaravaasinii. 74. guhyavidyaa guhya means secret. SHE is the secret knowledge. That is brahma vidyaa. Brahman shines in all its splendour in the dahara aakaasham, yet we do not have a direct knowledge of it. It is all pervading (at all times), it is unknown to the all. We see yet we do not see. It is a secret to all. On the moment of understanding as individuality falls away, one can say none knows it. Scriptures say that SHE is that brahman. Similarly we can say that no one understands mAyA. Defining mAyA as undefinable is not understanding it. Because understanding mAyA means transcending it. That is same as casting away the mask of avidya. Hence the only recourse in this path is faith in the words of shruti. That can come only by HER grace. AUM guhyavidyaayai namaH Corrections and additions are welcome. The next name is (91) svayambhukusumapriyaa. * Appendix of thethiyur subrahmanya shastrigaL's saundaryalaharii book.
