SHE is fond of the parijata flowers. The term svayambhu kusuma

indicates paarijaata for two reasons. It came into being on its

own when the milk ocean was churned and the second parijata is

one of the two flowers (other being bakula) which can be offered

to God after it has fallen down (on its own) to the ground. All

other flowers has to plucked. SHE is fond of these flowers.

If one searches of a metaphorical meaning for this name, one can

say that SHE like mind of the devotee being offered as the flower

with devotion. Since samsara is anaadi and mind (jiiva) is also

anaadi. God did not create the individual jiiva (otherwise we can

accuse HER of being arbitrary, as it has no puurva karma to enjoy

the fruits, vide shankara bhaashya of trishatii). Of all the

flowers that offered to HER, mind is the best. As the verse

gabhiire kaasaare* of shiivaanandalaharii exhorts, why search in

vain for flowers when the devotee can offer his mind to God as a

flower. SHE is fond of that type of devotion which exemplifies

surrender.
