Guest guest
This name occurs in shrii lalita trishatii*. Here I quote the shankara bhaashya for that name. kalyaaNam means aanandaa or bliss. A series of this, from yuva saarva bhaumaanaanda to brahmaanaanda are enumerated in the taittriiyopanishhad. "etasyai aanandasya anyaani bhUtaani maatra upajiivanti", that is, depending on a speck of HER bliss all the creatures exist. Hence the word kalyaaNa denotes all the created forms because SHE is present in all of them. They are HER various upaadhis or limitations. Just as the reflection of sun in a pot is limited by the pot, brahman shining through the created forms is limited by them, This form of limitation is called upaadhi. When SHE is reflected in maayaa, SHE is known as iishwara, i.e., that is HER integral (samashhTi) form, and when SHE is reflected in the mind (avidya), is known as jiiva, i.e, HER individual (vyashhTi) form. Since SHE HERSELF, exists in all these various limited states, of unity or diversity, all these are HERs. kalyaaNii means in this context that is SHE is nothing else except kalyaaNaa (bliss). It is not merely one of HER attributes. Why? What is the difference between raahu and raahu's head. raahu is a being without any body, he has only a head. Hence, it does not matter whether we say raahu or raahu's head, as they both mean the same. Similarly SHE is kalyaaNaa, that is, bliss only and nothing else. Ravi *Soon I will post the original sanskrit as a part of trishatii.
