Namaste,

The conversation is sort of getting into a debate, given my profession I am

always tempted to speak only when someone else raises a controversial question.

I am sure the learned members of this group will agree with me that the ultimate

essence of any vidya is to obtain Moksha.

The process is also referred to as Brahma Sayujya or Lalitha Sayujya, Moksha,

Kaivalya etc....

The qualifications for Moksha or Kaivalya is Jnana.

Ref to Shankara bhashya where acharyl says "Jnaanaad eva thu kaivalyam", or it

is by Jnana alone one gets Moksha.

So what is the nature of this Jnana?

Again Acharyal says Brahma satyam jagan mityam | Jeevo Brahmaiva Na paraha ||

Tad sarvaatma Bhaavam ye manishinaha vividishanthi etc.....

i.e, The knowledge that everything is made up of that supreme being and the

identity of oneself with the same is that Jnana.

Furthering this basic, we can clearly deduce that Parabrahman is without any

form, colour etc...from the upanishads.

THIS clearly indiactes that qualities like Kshudra, satwika, rajasa, tamasa,

himsa, ahimsa , sankalpa , vikalpa, dharma, adharma, paapa , punya etc.........

are all subjective qualities which WE consider as being positive or negative,

while the truth remains that they all are attributes of an inattributable entity

whom i prefer to call as LALITHA PARAMESHWARI (dharmaadharma vivagita,

vidyaavidya swaroopini etc...).

This being the case we all have to look at our actions in the light of the

injunctions laid in the Shastras and perform actions or karma in the initial

stages according to Dharma, if our Prarabdha has been exhausted then SHE will

lead us to her.

The initial discussion on Kshudra prayogas should be viewed as a NISHIDDHA

karma, according to MEEMAMSA.

Meemamsa, lays down 4 kinds of Karma,

1. Nitya - Daily and mandatory rituals.

2. Naimittika - Obligatory rituals.

3. Kamya - Karmas done for some desire, like Putrakameshti yagna, Swayamvara

parvathi japa for unmarried damsels, etc...

4. Nishiddha Karma - Prohibited KARMAS which is to be used for self protection

in extreme cases, in the words of Jaimini, mahaapat kaale viniveshaniyam.

Nishiddha Karma, has been condemned widely and is prohibited in general. It is

interesting to note that, only a person who does the first two Karmas, i.e, Nitya

and Naimittika, can do the rest.

All those aspiring for Moksha, are adviced from doing Kamya and Nishiddha

Karma, by Shankara Bhagavatpadal, as they give rise to a new Vasana and karma,

which is against the constitution of an ardent seeker of Moksha, who is trying

to negate his Prarabdha.

I request all to appreciate the beauty and resources of our Shastras including

Tantra, and understand that Parameshwari is present in all forms, while the

realisation of the same and going according to Scripturally sanctioned

injunctions leading to her is left to our discrimination and poorva vasanas.

Namaste,
