101. brahmavishhNaviishajananii

SHE is the mother of brahma, vishhNu and shiva. Here the word

mother (jananii) implies that SHE is the basis of all these

three. SHE is the parabrahman which the substratum of all.

Without HER as the basis, all this drama of creation,

preservation, and destruction cannot occur. Hence, SHE is the

mother of these three.

 

SHE as supreme iishvara, when associated with rajas, creates the

world and is called brahma. Using the power of sattva SHE

preserves it as vishhNu. Using the power of tamas, SHE destroys

the world. Hence SHE who is the basis of all three is called

their mother.

 

SHE is indeed the mother of all, from the lowliest worm to great

ones like brahma, vishhNu and shiva (abrahmakiiTajananii).
