gaayatrii shaapa vimochanam

This comes in devii-bhagavatam, the version I read is very

brief. Does any one here know that incident in detail. There are

mantra-s (also from devii bhagavatam) which are to be said to

overcome that (will only 2 minutes to say). Briefly, in kaliyuga

gaayatri japam will not yield results due to curses by brahma,

vashishhTa and vishvaamitra. This mantra is a prayer to overcome

that.

 

I want to know why they cursed and the background.
