Sometime back in Advaitin, I saw a message which mentioned about a bank

gives rAma nAma as loan, and the devotee has return it in certain

period of time by chanting it. I should admit that I did not read the

message completely. I just read few lines.

 

At the first thought, I dismissed it as a silly idea, which indeed

reflects my lack of wisdom and humility. But I did not tell it to

anyone about it explicitly though. However, God did not like me to

dismiss it away like that (even mentally) and SHE made me contemplate

on it. After sometime (days), I asked to myself, how can I apply this

to my life and make spiritual progress. Few days of thought, gave me a

new idea, which I have faithfully started following.

 

I modified this idea as a personal banking system for gAyAtri mantra.

As you know, every day those who have initiated to sandhya has to chant

3X108 (324) gAyAtri-s. Any lapse in that becomes a debt. I assumed for

all my lapses in the past, to lay a penalty of 1,182,600 (10 year

penalty 10x324x365) gAyatri-s. And I will make up for that in 30 years

(almost like a 30 year mortgage) along with the daily 324. With no

interests, if I do 432/day I will be paying it back in 30 years. I can

do more, of course. It does not take a great deal of time to do

432/day.

 

 

In addition, I classified my sins to 4 levels each with a penalty 27,

54, 81, and 108 respectively. If I commit a level 4 sin, then I have to

add 108 more to my daily number, if I do not do it then I go negative.

By sin, I mean an act against dharma done by the force of habit despite

the good intention of staying away from it. Needless to say, I have

many level4 penalties. My only hope is chanting gAyAtri will eventually

give me wisdom to get out such weaknesses.

 

I operate with a set of rules and update my diary daily. I should say

this has changed my perspective of many things and improved the quality

of my life. I would stop here and not discuss about this anymore.

 

 

Initially I thought I should not tell it outside. Later I thought, may

be someone will adopt or adapt the idea for their benefit. May

veda-mAtA forgive my transgression.
