The term avadyA means, absence of knowledge (ignorance), falsehood, and suffering (bad qualities) which are despicable. (SHE is devoid of them and possesses the opposite, which is good attributes, hence SHE is worthy of worship). [Not merely SHE is devoid of them, but] being the form of sat (beingness, which is opposite to mithyA), jnAna (knowledge which is opposite to ignorance of avidya) and Ananda (bliss, which is opposite to suffering) SHE removes those despicable traits. Hence SHE is celebrated as sarvAnavadyA. Or this name can be interpreted as SHE who removes all the despicable traits, bestows prosperity and all good qualities and makes those who are devoted to HER worthy of adoration. AUM sarvAnavadyAyai namaH Thus shankara clearly explains why SHE is called sarvAnavadyA. ===== ambaaL daasan Ravi sharaNAgata raxakI nivEyani sadA ninnu nammiti mInAxI http://www.ambaa.org/ http://www.advaita-vedanta.org Auctions - Buy the things you want at great prices. http://auctions./
