Dear devI-upAsakas,

 

I have been asked to write an introduction. I confess I have

not been formally initiated into shrI-vidyA although I have heard

and read about it. Perhaps, some day I will have the good fortune

of being initiated so that I may carry on the upAsana on my own.

Until then I would like to read about it and this list seems to

be a good source.

 

I am a smArta following the bhAgavata sampradAya which means

we hold the ViTThala (ViShNu) deity to be as dear as shiva-shakti

in our worship. However, one of my kula-devatAs is the bhavAnI

of tuljApur in Maharashtra, so I can claim to be a devI-bhakta

too.
