Guest guest
Guru and sishya - relationship It came to my mind to submit certain thoughts of my understanding about the above topic. There are instances where a guru is eagerly waiting for a deserving sishya to impart the knowledge of worship. it is the reflection of sishya of his deep urge which pushes to bring forth Guru for him.Study the following narration of Ramakrishna Paramahamsa. Once there was a bhagawatha who was doing a regular puja daily after a milkmaid brings milk for his worship. the milkmaid had to cross a river which is normally dry and reach the bramin’s house. one day she came very late and the bhagavathar got very angry and asked reason for her delay. she said that due to flood in the river she had to wait till the water recede and then cross it hence delay. He got annoyed and told her she should have repeated Ramanama japa and crossed. The maid took it as manthra and had deep faith on this man. next day she came in right time and when that brahmin asked how she came to day when there was heavy flood in the river. she said that she crossed the river by telling ramanama as instructed by him. This has given him a shock. ok I would see that.thus he followed her and observed the milkmaid simply closed her eyes and crossed the river in no time and reached other side and then opened her eyes and looked back for that brahmin to cross. that man while crossing he lifted his dhoti while getting into the river. then she cried why do u bother for the dhothi. that man crossed and drowned in the river. >From this u would observe that guru’s qualification is not important but the faith in him is more important. I would continue to narrate two more stories for our understanding the importance of the bhavam. urs krishnamoorthy.
Guest guest
There greatest Guru-Sishya Bhavam is highlighted in the life of Bhagawad padal, Sri Adi Sankarar.. Once he was standing on a river bank and had called his disciples who were on the other side of the river, One of his disciple on hearing his Gurus call just rushed walking in the river without realising he is on the river.. As he marched towards his Guru, a lotus firmly held his feet and he went on to acknowldeged by the World as "padma Padar" Such is the Guru MAhima... Gurubhyo Namahah!!! Guest guest
Namasthe when compared to Great Sankara, the Bhagawathar is nothing. what i impress upon is albeit the teachers ability, the taught's ardent yearning is more essential. once a guru vomitted on the hands of sishya and told him to throw it over a place where none can stamp it. at once sishya had put it in his mouth and swallowed it. the guru stunned and simply prostrated before the sishya and ran away and told him to search for a more deserving guru. fire can be created by creating friction between two stones ,but it is easier if it is passed on from a big flame or a small agarbathi. the difference is it would quickly catch from a big flame perhaps it may burn the entire body; whereas in the other case it requires lot of patience and blowing of air (ie with lot of exercise) but it is sure that u can create heat.i think i am clear in understanding. urs krishnamoorthy ------ramakrishnanj wrote:------ >There greatest Guru-Sishya Bhavam is highlighted in the life of Bhagawad padal, Sri Adi Sankarar..
