Devas, saints and learned people well versed in Vedas stay in front of your sacred temple (in Madurai). They bath (abhishek) you with their heartfelt prayers.. Moved, you grace them just with a twist of your bow-like brow-line, as though asking them, "do you have any complaints?" Verse 10: kOTaatha ne~nchamum kuumbaatha iigaiyum kOthaiyarpaal naaTaatha nErmaiyum nallOr thoTarbum nayanthu aruLvaay kuuTaatha varkkum kolaiyiR koTiyarkkum kumpiruLaam vaaTaanaraku aLiththaay mathuraippathi vaaLnuthalE ! .. (this verse is self-alligned, so there is no need to distribute the words in order) (words in paranthesis are my own, added to present a continuity of meaning) Oh Sword-edged Crescent Deity of Madurai! Please bless me with Uncompromising heart, undwindling generosity, Sincerity (to my vows) untouched by lust (for women) Right company of noble people...!! (I am aware that) You bestow darkness and unabated hell like misery to murderers and evil hearted... Sincerely, Gopal
