A ruler of the Vjaya nagar Kingdom engaged Gambhira-raya to give an exposition of the Maha bharata in his court.he was so much pleased with Gambhira-rayasperformance that he conferred upon him the hereditary title of Bharati. Gambhira rayas wife ,Konamamba, gave birth to Bhaskara raya in the town of Bhaaga. Bhaskaras upanayana was performed at Benares by his father and he was placed under the tuition os Narasimhadhvarin, who taught him all the 18 vidyas. The progress of his studies was greatlyaccelerated by the fact that eve when he was a mere boy he was initiated by his father into the worship of Sarasvati. It is narrated that ,when he was only a boy of seven years of age ,he was able to excite the admiration of Sabhesvara by his dialectical ability .After mastering the Gauda tarka under Gangadhara Vajapeyin,he was married to a girl named Aanandi who presented him with a son named Pandu ranga.Seeeing that the Atharva Veda had gone out of use owing to a braek in sampradaya , he undertook the laborious task of mastering that veda and teaching it to a number of Braahmanas. It was he who popularised the Devi Bhagavata Maha Purana and the Adbhuta kanda the eigth kanda of the Ramayana. He initiated his wife into the worship of Sri-vidya and gave her the name of Padmavaty-ambika. He himself underwent diksha of Purnabhisheka under the teacher,Siva datta Sukla. He then undertook a tour in Gujarat and there vanquished in debate a teacher of the vallbha sampradaya. ....to continue regards satish Get 250 color business cards for FREE! at Lycos Mail http://mail.lycos.com/freemail/vistaprint_index.html
