Guest guest
Dearest Friends, This is my first post. I have enjoyed writing on a Bhakta's devotion to Madhurai Meenakshi. Me not being skilled, it does not have metric, rhymes or poetic rules. In advance, I request for your pardon if there is anything incorrect. --- Trying to catch a glimpse of the splendor, The magnificence no mortal can show, We sat nestling around the shrine, In deep hope of catching some remnants. Unaware of chanting by priests, Unaware of devotees leaving the shrine, I waited for the grandeur to begin, Only to be filled with shame. Eating from the scraps you gave, Never quenching thirst for you, I walked in circles in the temple, To behold what cannot be beheld. Packing my thirst and packing my hunger, I left my soul and got ready to leave, For, Everyone has to leave when it is time to leave. The brilliance of a hundred suns, The warmth of a thousand moons, Lo! Behold ! The Mother arrived in a palanquin ! Glancing from the corners of her eyes, Handing over more scraps to us, Sublimely smiling and hiding her away, Meenakshi ordered lightning and thunder !! Unprepared with covers and unprepared with umbrellas, She knew we had no place to hide if the rain came. She ordered the clouds again to stop And we left with a new hope for tomorrow ! Yours lovingly, Raghava
