Guest guest
Namasthe to all members and devotees The vasantha navrathri festival is over. Her blessings are so rejoicing and inexplicable.may i pass it on to all our members.the abhishekam was done with simple water without any ingradients but its taste was so sweet which i am unable to keep it for myself. how brilliant it is to do upasana. Coming to the subject,i would like to mention about a temple for Gnana Saraswathi at Basar near Nizamabad in Andhra Pradesh. Sage Vyasa had installed the idol made out of Godavari sand in akshara form and worshipped I saw the temple in 1956 when it was in very delipidated condition surrounding by a thick forest with wild animals. i actually could see the bijaksharas in a form of saraswathi deity with veena in her hand. now it is simply kept covered and in front of it an idol with similar shape is installed and worshipped.it is grown very much and devotees are pouring in.it is said that our ex prime minister Narasimha rao had taken his aksharabyasa at this temple.during examination time children used to keep their pens and books in front of the idol and take them before writing the examination. it is sure that they pass the examination. i urge our members to visit the temple once when they are visiting India. there are only two temples for the Goddess of learning. one is at koothanur installed by the Tamil poet Ottakuthar and another one is this. thank u all regards urs krishnamoorthy. Guest guest
Hariom, When i read about the sender of this mail, i remembered Sharada of sringeri, who is Saraswathi and noneelse. The same Saraswathi, whom Shankaracharya brought from Kashmira with the help of Vanadurga mantra. The same saraswathi who has been the source of inspiration of thousand of aspirants and sanyasis, including the illustrous peetadhipathis of Sringeri. om, gp --- saarada wrote: > , kaushik@n... wrote: > > > Namasthe to all members and devotees > > > > there are only two temples for the Goddess of > learning. one is at > > koothanur installed by the Tamil poet Ottakuthar > and another one is > > this. thank u all regards urs krishnamoorthy. > > > namastae! > > Thanks for the article. You can say there is a small temple to Brahma with in the main compound of the temple. There is a nail on the forehead of the idol - it has been explained by one of the archakas there, that this had to be done, because there was incidence of the statue wandering away before the statue was nailed. Guest guest
Hariom, The lalithopakhyana, describes Sharada, the deity presiding over the sharad ruthu as Lalitha herself in the form of Saraswathi. There is a Brahma temple at Sringeri, however Sringeri being home to Shakta philosophy euglorifies Sharada as lalitha. This is evident in the different shlokas formed by the Acharyals of Sringeri like Chandrasekhara Bharathi swamigal, Shivabhinava Narasimha Bharathi swamigal etc. The devi purana also mentions about Sharada, for all those further interested. om - chandrasekhara sarma Thursday, April 05, 2001 8:25 PM RE: saraswathi temple namaste to all members, as i am following the continuous mails.. i got a small doubt... usually in our tepmles along with godess a god's idol will alo be there. now at sringeri along with sarada matha..is brahma s temple there??(when i visited srigeri i was told its eeswara temple there ..why so?) since we are disussing about brahmas temples i got this doubt... elders please excuse me if i am wrong in my idea.. and i hope some one can clear my doubt. namate baladitya --- sreecharana <sreecharana wrote: > Namasthe to all members > > I wonder if Shri Saarada Devi means Shri > Saraswati or not. > If yes, Shringeri has a shAradAdEvi (saraswathi) > temple, right ? > > charana > > > > > > saarada [saarada] > Thursday, April 05, 2001 4:48 PM > > Re: saraswathi temple > > > , kaushik@n... wrote: > > > Namasthe to all members and devotees > > > > there are only two temples for the Goddess of > learning. one is at > > koothanur installed by the Tamil poet Ottakuthar > and another one is > > this. thank u all regards urs krishnamoorthy. > > > namastae! > > Thanks for the article.
