The next one is > > sadaa pa.nchadashaatmaikya svaruupaayai namo namaH > Last nite, I could not sleep from 1:45 to 3:30, I was thinking about this name. Here i my take and feel free to correct me. sadaa - always. At all times, at all places and under all circumstances panchadashaa - 15 aatma - Self/essence/basis aikya - united sva - one's ruupa - form Depending on how "15" is defined we can have some different interpretations. a) pancha dasha refers to the mantra pancha-dashaaxarii SHE is the devatA or essence of this mantra. The name says HER form is ever united with the basis (or devatA) of the mantra. This identity is there for all times, all places, under all circumstances. There are many variations of panchadashi obtained by adding bIjAxara- s before, after and inbetween. All of them indeed represent HER.* b) pancha dasha means jIva The 15 are, pancha bhUta-s, pancha praNa-s, 4 antaH-karaNa-s (manas, buddhi, aha.mkaaram, and kAraNa sharira (ideational body). I skip 5 karmendriya-s and 5 jnAnedriya-s because they are indeed a product of these. The basis of this Atman. SHE as brahman is ever one with this Atman. This is true at all times. So this name establishes the fundamental tenet of advaita-vedAnta - jIvo brahmaiva na paraH. c) pancha dasha means Universe pancha bhUta-s, brahma, vishhNU, rudra, maheshvara and sadashiva, srishTi, sthiti, laya, tirodhana and anugraha, make this 15. SHE as brahman is the basis of all this. indicated microsm and [c] indicates macrosm. d) pancha dasha denotes 15 tithi-s, thereby indicating time and implying space. SHE is the entire space-time continuum and the basis of it. b-d is my stretch of imagination. You can always correct and comment. Ravi AUM shyAmaLaayai namaH *[may be you can skip the following paragraph] Why then we need them all? When SHE can be realized by constant rembrance that SHE is the mother of the Universe and one's own mother? (using n. dIxita's words mInAxI vishvajanani janani mamaiva). All this is there because human mind delights in complexity and hundred of rules. All these exists because there are different classes of sadhaka-s. Some will be content with AUM or hriim.h and for some even paraa paraa shoDashi will still leave room for some more bIjaaxara-s :-)). But when you turn around and read trishatii you see hriim alone in enough! But I will not deny that I also delight in complexities :-))
