Guest guest
51. AUM shiva-kAmeshvarAnkasthAyai namaH AUM AUM Salutations to HER who is seated on the lap of shiva-kAmeshvara AUM. In saubhAgya bhAsakara (SB) -Additional specification of left lap (vAmAnka) is included. "tasyAN^ke vAmotsaN^ge tiShTati niShaNNa" -Long commentary on this name dwelves on how "kAma" is interpreted. Three different arguments for this term is given. #1 First being kAma is manmatha and kAmeshvara is Lord shiva who burnt manmAtha. #2 Second argument kAma is praj~nAna which is same as shiva. #3 Third indicates kAmeshvara as Atman quoting the shruti "Atma eva idaM agra AsIt ..." and indicates that kAmeshvara is not rudra or kAma but the Supreme brahman. This name can be interpreted as follows: 1) Straight meaning is SHE is seated on the lap of shiva. 2) shiva denotes praj~nAna. praj~nAnam brahma. Hence shiva denotes pure consciousness or nirguNa brahman which is beyond all duality. kAmeshwara indicates sagUNa brahman. Why? If kameshwara indicates Lord who has conquered kAma by #1, that is Lord shiva, HE is indeed sagUNa. Or if we go by the interpretation #3, then moment the desire to create stirred, it is no longer nirguNa. Hence this name is SHE is established in both nirguNa and saguNa. Such a thing is impossible to conceive and understand by mind. Hence, SHE is beyond the realm of mind and speech. ===== ambaaL daasan Ravi sharaNAgata raxakI nivEyani sadA ninnu nammiti mInAxI http://www.ambaa.org/ http://www.advaita-vedanta.org Get email at your own domain with Mail. http://personal.mail./
