Verse 22:

vallabam illai varam o^nRum illai vaRitu uza^nRu

tollaiyuL paTTu azivE^nukku ira~Ngit tuNaipuriya

vil e^na mEru vaLaittavarOTu viraintuvantu e^n

allal kaLaintiTuvAy maturApuri ampikaiyE

V.22

Oh Ambaa of Madurai!

I dont have the puissance (capability);

I am not blessed; in hardships

I waste myself away to decay;

To save me with compassion

please come with your mighty Lord

(who has)Meru as His bow.

This verse reminded me of abhirAmi antAdi "vallabham onRu aRiyEn chiRiyEn",

the same verse also refer to Lord having the golden mount meru as his bow.

Thanks to you and sridhar for posting this text with meanings.

==> These thanks are due only to Sri Gopal. Both the text

(transliteration) and the VERY NICE translation/notes are

entirely his. Sincere thanks to Smt.Sivashankari Sundaresan,

Sri Krishnamoorth,. I consider their words as blessings,

though i am the LEAST DESERVING among all people of their

kindness.

I (we) also owe a debt to Smt. Suprabha for her exquisite

translation of the umA sAhasri, every bit of which i am

enjoying very much and i thought i will vocally express

my thanks.

I have one small question for Sri Krishnamoorthy. I could

not help noticing that one of the addresses he mentioned

sounded suspiciously like a place i lived in. I am guessing

that Cantori, Michigan is actually Canton, Michigan (in the

address for Smt. Saraswathi in the post on Nithyadevi). I

don't think there is a Cantori, plus it is easy to mistake

the "n" for "ri". In which case, the zip code should be 48187.

Could he please let me know if this is correct.

Regards,

Sridhar.
