This may be not very popular or easily readable:

Sri Kumarakurupara has authored a "Sakalakalavalli maalai" (Garland of verses on

the goddes adept in all arts) in tamil. It is around 350 years old, if not

more.I have seen parallel verses in sanskrit so there should be some sanskrit

work which could have inspired Sri Kumarakurupara.

PS: I have access to Tamil work, if you are interested.

Om Sri Gurubyo Namaha

Dear Devotees:

I am somewhat familiar with color preferences, etc for

Ma Saraswati, however, I am having trouble finding

which flowers she prefers. Since someone requested

the info. for Ma Durga, I suppose aid might be offered

me in this instance. IN addition, I would like some

help discovering scriptures devoted to Ma Saraswati.

Thank you.

It is indeed true. This idea is beautifully summarized in shivaanandalaharii.

gabhiire kaasaare vishati vijane ghoravipine

vishaale shaile cha bhramati kusumaarthaM jaDamatiH |

samarpyaikaM chetaH sarasijamumaanaatha bhavate

sukhenaavasthaatuM jana iha na jaanaati kimaho || 9||

umaanaatha - O umaa naatha!

gabiire kaasare - in a deep pond,

vijane ghoravipine - in a terrifying forest without humans, )and)

vishale shaile - in a broad mountain

jaDamatiH - one with less intelligence

vishati - enters and

bhramati - roams (or searches)

kusumaartham - for the sake of flowers.

bhavate - To you

chetaH sarasijam - (if) the lotus of one's mind

ekam samarpya - alone is offered

sukhena avasthaatum - one can remain happy (staying in a same place without

running around)

kim aho! = How come !!!

jana iha na jaanati - people here does not know???

I had only 5 minutes to type this, there may be errors in case and tense

structure, but it should convey the overall meaning.
