Guest guest
Hariom, All are the same. One needs to be initiated into it properly from a guru, not reading from a book. I hope you are aware of that. gp - maitreyi144 Wednesday, July 18, 2001 9:27 PM Durga Saptashati Dear friends in Divine Mother, Namste and pronams. I would like to know what is the difference between Durga saptashati, Devi Mahatmya, and chandi path. I have conflicting information. SOme say that they are same and some say they are different. Guest guest
Dear Maiteyi, Durga Saptashati, Devi Mahatmyam and Chandi Path are three names of one and the same: the seven hundred shlokas work on Durga's exploits, which are read during Navaratri. Guest guest
namaste, Please note that Saptasati cannot be recited unless one is initiated properly. Saptasati has many stotras on Durga and they can recited-- like shakrAdaya stuti,rAtri sUktaM(not the vedic one),nArAyaNI stuti(each shloka ending with ...devI nArAyaNI namostute),devI sUktaM(each shloka starting with yA devi sarva bhUteShu..) etc. the devi sUktaM mentioned above can be easily understood without much knowledge of sanskrit. best wishes --- maitreyi144 wrote: > Dear friends in Divine Mother, > > Namste and pronams. Guest guest
Thank you Mr Srinivas, for the information regarding the web site with kritis of Shyama Sasti. It is a very useful site, though it does not contain the lyric I had been looking for. Could you find the web site with the Durga Saptashati. If you could, please let me share the same. narsingh
Buy the book in Hindi published by Gita Press, Allahabad, from stalls at major Railway stations or bookstores. You will find answers to many of your questions in the book.
