Guest guest
Namaste, I am thinking of starting a new series from a book that i recently found "stotrasamuchchayaH - A collection of rare and unpublished stotrA-s", Vol 99 of the Adyar Library Series (published by the Adyar Library and Research Center in Adyar, Madras/Chennai). I will be posting (very slowly, i am sure !) the following three stotrAs (each comprising 300 verses) (i) ambikAtrishatI (ii) kamalAtrishatI and (iii) shAradAtrishatI which, to quote the book, "a triad of hymns to Devi, Lakshmi and Sarasvati, composed by the poet Gangadharamakhin; hymns of this type in Arya metre are inspired by and bear the influence of the AryAdvishatI of DurvAsas and the AryAshataka in the Pa~nchashatI of mUka." Some other stotrams on ambAl in the book (in 2 volumes) include (1) ambikAstutiH - hanumatproktA (2) durgAstutiH (devImAhAtmyakathAsArarUpa) (*) (3) devInavaratnamAlikA - rAmachandrakavikR^itA (4) pArvatIstotram (**) (5) bR^ihadambAryAshatakam (6) mahAShoDashIvarNaratnAvalistotram (7) laghuShoDashArNakalAvilAsaH (8) reNukAstotram (9) varAhamukhIstavaH (10) AryApa~nchadashIstotram - tyAgarAjavirachitam (11) dharmAmbAkikAstavaH - tyAgarAjavirachitaH (12) navAkSharIstotram - tyAgarAjavirachitam (13) rAjarAjeshvarIstavaH - tyAgarAjavirachitaH (14) ShaTtri.nshannavamallikAstavaH - tyAgarAjavirachitaH (15) sa.nvichchhatakam - tyAgarAjavirachitam (16) kamalAShTakam (17) aShTamahiShIprArthanAshatakam - rAmAnujAryakR^itam (***) (18) lakShmIstavaH (19) lakshmIstotram - vAdhUlarAghavakavikR^itam (20) shrIpAdastavaH (21) mahAlakShmIdaNDakaH - keshavasUrikR^itaH ---------------------- Additional information from the book (*) As indicated in the paranthesized comment; said to summarize the devI mAhAtmyam. A similar stotram on Lord shiva - rudrArthasArastavaH is included in the book, "which epitomizes the shatarudrIya" (**) on the goddess sundarakuchAmbikA at Tejinivana near Kumbhakonam (***) 100 verses in AryA metre extolling the goddess mahAlakShmI worshipped in different forms in different sacred shrines such as Tirupathi, Kanchipuram, Srimushnam, Sholingur, Namakkal, Tiruvellikeni, Srivilliputtur and Kumbakonam ---------------------- Also included are a *large* number of hymns devoted to Lord shiva, viShNu, gaNapati and subrahmaNyA, which are too numerous to mention.. if anyone is interested, i will post these later. Some of the works mentioned above (6 and 7 in particular) are said to embody mantrashAstra details and some (esp. those on Lord shiva) are said to possess an advaitic flavor. The book adds that these hymns, in addition to their devotional appeal, possess great literary quality (I am omitting the details) If anyone is interested in helping me transliterate any of the 21 works listed (or others), please let me know. Regards, Sridhar.

There is no other information in the book other than the name ? Is he of "recent" origin ? Are there any other major works by him ? Any information will be very interesting. Regards, Sridhar.
