Guest guest
I am resending the verse 3 with the sloka, as Ravi had mentioned.Hope forgive this spamming. I will post the verse 4 in the format tomorrow. Hereafter this format will be followed. ------ Gopal cintitaphalaparipoÿaõacint~maõireva k~ñcinilay~ me | ciratarasucaritasulabh~ cittaÕ þiþirayatu citsukh~dh~r~ || 3 || Verse 3: Mother Kamakshi at Kanchi is my Chintamaniratna,in giving what I want! Let She,with Her limitless Gnanananda roopa, fundamental to the universe, cool my heart as it is possible only due to my poova punya (not with my efforts now and here) Chintamani = Miracle stone that gives what one wants holding it in hand Limitless gnananda roopa in the tamil text stands for chit+suka+dara(She that flows as Blissful Consciousness, the actual translation of the sanskrit word)

On a lighter note, ambaaL does not like attachments either :-)) chintita-phala-paripoShaNa chintAmaNir-eva kAnchi-nilayA me chiratara-sucharita-sulabhA chittam shishirayatu chit-sukha-AdhArA The last term chitsukhAdhArA I think is chit sukha AdhArA. --------- chiratara - For a long time (many births) sucharita - leading a virtuous life (good conduct according to shAstra-s) sulabhA - easily attainable kAnchi nilayA - established in kAnchi chit shuka Adhara - basis or support for consciousness-bliss of sat chit Ananda, sat is assumed, and chit and Ananda are mentioned chintita - desired phala - fruits/wishes paripoShaNa - promoting/granting/fulfulling chintAmaniH eva - like a chintAmaNi me - for me chittam - mind shishirayatu - cool it (from the heat of saMsara) ---------------- Due to virtuous conduct and rightful living of many great ones, SHE became easily attainable (for all) by being established in kAnchi, SHE who is the basis for consciousness (pure awareness) and bliss. FOr me SHE is like the chintAmaNi ratnam which grants all the desires, may SHE cool my heart (mind) [from the heat of compassion by giving me pure awareness and Ananda. Since SHE is the basis for that it is fair to ask HER] This is my take. I feel otherwise chiratara and sulabha are not resolved and they are contradictory. I would not say SHE is easy attainable after toiling for many births leading a virtuous life. Reading and re-reading these verses bring the innate poetic beauty of this work. WoW it is great. The term "chiratarasucharitasulabhA" flows out which such a melody, what a choice of words!! No wonder paramAchArya calles the author a mahAkavi. -chintAmanireva -- compare avidyAnAm verse of saundaryalaharI Please correct/comment. > Verse 3: > Mother Kamakshi at Kanchi is my > Chintamaniratna,in giving what I want! > Let She,with Her limitless Gnanananda roopa, > fundamental to the universe, > cool my heart as it is possible > only due to my poova punya > (not with my efforts now and here) > > Chintamani = Miracle stone that gives what one wants holding > it in hand > > Limitless gnananda roopa in the tamil text stands for > chit+suka+dara(She that flows as Blissful Consciousness, > the actual translation of the sanskrit word) >

Even though I mentioned it correctly in the first instance while writing the meaning of shishirayatu, here it was due to careless typing. "may SHE cool my heart (mind) [ out of compassion from the heat of saMsaara ...] Ravi >by > giving me pure awareness and Ananda.
