Guest guest
(from Sri Ravi's mail) "Due to virtuous conduct and rightful living of many great ones, SHE became easily attainable (for all) by being established in kAnchi, SHE who is the basis for consciousness (pure awareness) and bliss. FOr me SHE is like the chintAmaNi ratnam which grants all the desires, may SHE cool my heart (mind) [from the heat of compassion by giving me pure awareness and Ananda. Since SHE is the basis for that it is fair to ask HER] " This explanation is very beautiful and gives a totally different meaning to the sloka. I could not resist quoting a sloka by Appaya Dikshitar, where he says that "Lord Siva who is always very cool because of having Ganga, wearing chandanam, having the moon and snakes which have a cool body, and having Goddess Parvati - the daughter of the snow-clad mountains. How can Siva tolerate this extreme cold unless he resides in my mind which is always hot due to the sorrows associated with the samsAra." Guest guest
Hello Mrs. Aarathi , Hope yourself and your husband are doing fine. Thanks for all your detailed and enlightening explanations. You may remember that I mentioned about the " Maathruka Stothram" some time back. Sorry there has been some delay on that front, I have requested my parents to send me a copy of that sloka. Once I get it , I will send it across to you for your translation. Eventually that will benefit the entire group I hope. Thanks and Regards, Ganesh Padmanabhan --- Aarathi Sankaran <aarathisankaran wrote: > (from Sri Ravi's mail) > "Due to virtuous conduct and rightful living of many > great ones, SHE > became easily attainable (for all) by being > established in kAnchi, > SHE who is the basis for consciousness (pure > awareness) and bliss. > FOr me SHE is like the chintAmaNi ratnam which > grants all the > desires, may SHE cool my heart (mind) [from the heat > of compassion by > giving me pure awareness and Ananda.
