Guest guest
Dear friends, I have some doubts that have been troubling me for quite sometime now. Many of you may perhaps find it dumb and even out of context, yet I take the freedom to ask it to you. - Sri Adi Sankaracharya says 'Brahma satyam, jagat mithya' and he says that we imagine this world to be real because of maya. All throughout he has critisised Maya.....but on the other hand he has praised and celebrated Maya in many of his works. Is he contradicting himself?? - Sankara says everything is the brahman, duality is due to Maya, in that case is Maya different from the Brahman. These are the doubts of an ignorant teenager like myself. It would be great if someone knowledgable could dispel my doubts. Cheers, Rohit Viswanath., Mumbai, 07/10/01. Guest guest
Namaste, I received this from Shri Prasad Reddy, which is intended for the list. Am forwarding it. Note: forwarded message attached. There is absolutely nothing other than Holy Mother. (underline this sentence.) Everything is her 'lila'. Please look into 'Naasadheeya Suktha' of RigVeda. Trys to explain what was there at the beginning of 'sristi'. With help of all texts, knowledge; - 1.whatever we see, 2.the desire to see, and 3.yourself, the person trying to see - everything is Her. Simply, maya, mahamaya, jagat, prakriti, purusha, shiva, shakti, laxmi, vagdevi, evrything is from and part of ParaBrahman/Lalitha Maha Tripura Sundari. Think Her as Whole and concentrate/pray/meditate on Her as whole(Purna) is what we need to do, rather than ignoring some/more gunas of Mother. Hope , we, getting knowledge from diversified sources, won't diversify our vision, instead let us go to the unified bindu( in SriChakra),which is abode of herself(bindu mandala vasini). And if we look only at Maya, and think about only Maya, We will fell into it. and maya is her creation, she owns it.She is also (sahasra nama)Avidya swaroopa. But let us won't just regard her as Avidya swaroopa. She is also Vidya swaroopa. Let us dance in the full glory of her, in both Avidya & Vidya. As prakriti and purusha. This message is based on lot of assumptions/(mis?)understandings from me. I am grateful to your corrections.
