Guest guest
In the verse "dhanam tharum" of abhirAmi antAdi, bhatta says "oru naaLum thaLarvu aRiyaa manam tharum". That is ambaaL's eyes will give a mind which never get depressed or tired. Earlier when I wrote about the verse, I think I translated "thaLarvu aRiyaa" as that one that will never get weak or tired. Thinking more about it and looking at the way mental depression is pervading this planet, it is purport as one that does not know what depression is seems to be apt. Depression is a disease which rarely attacks poor. Only those who have wealth and education succumb it. It is even more apt to keep it after dhanam (wealth) and kalvi (education). In another place, bhaTTa remarks, "komaLa yaaMaLai kombirukka izhavuRRu ninRa nenje irangEl unakku en kuRaiye". Which says "when that komaLa shyAmaLa is there for your support, O mind you pose as if you have lost everything, I will never be sympathetic to you! What problem do you have (dont complain)". abhiraami antaadi has so many jewels scattered in it, it is great support for ambaaL devotees. Hope one day, here we will undertake a systematic and eloborate translation of this work. Ravi AUM shrImatre namaH
