Kapali also means He who is carrying the skull of Brahma. One of the eight

valours Lord Shiva did is removing the one head of Brahma. He who teached

lesson to Brahma is known as Kapali. Incidentally the presiding deity of

Mylapore, where our mother bestows all our wishes as Karpagamba is Kapali.
