I went to a few sites and copies whatever I felt was usable. I am still

including sites that say Varahi is the concert of Varaha avatara and those

which saw Varahi draws her energy from Yama.

Abut Kanchi Kamakshi temple : VArAhI sannidhi is on the right of the

garbagruha and shyaamaLA has a separate shrine on the left side of the first

prAkAra. aruupa lakshmi has a shrine near vArAhI. (Normally vArAhI is

misunderstood as Vishu(varAha) and shyAmalA as Sarasvati).

VARAHI[NL]Varahi represents Lord Yama's energy. She is very dark in color

and she is wearing black silk and black jewelry. Her face is like that of a

boar and she has four arms. She is seated on a peetam (seat) with her left

foot supported by a small stool.

Legends: This image is believed to be a personification of Kali, who had

killed the demon Daaruka. Daaruka is said to have worshipped Bhrama, and

harassed the devas. The goddesses created Bhramani, Vaishnavi, Maheswari,

Kaumari, Varahi and Indrani from Bhrama, vishnu, Mahadeva, Kumara, Yama and

Indra, and they were defeated by Daaruka, however Shiva created Kaali and

Having told all this, may be what I say now will not be backed by all the

scriptures that you quote. All forms of Goddess always have shanku and

chakra in one of their bhujaas. ( like say durga, even tho you have a

separate Vishnu durga, with almost a similar form.) Do we just condlude

saying that all forms of goddess are amshas of Vishnu.Period? Each seems to

be a form of Goddess meant for a purpose, type of boones they give, which

part of the human mind they control. .... Based on this each seems to draw

their energy from a particular source. Each form seems to be created with a

definite purpose and attributes that complement that purpose, tho each is

the Shakthi , the Universal energy herself capable of given salvation to the

devotee.

 

In the final count , all are various forms of Shakthi , the Universal Energy

that creates, sustains and remodifies this world as is appropriate.

 

Well ... it is the greatness of Goddess that she has offered herself in so

many forms (enough to get the mind confused and debate, instead of holding

on to one form and enjoy her bliss. May be her maya too.)

 

You seem to be very well read on scriptures. Pl share enlighten me on what

they say
